When your platform is all about e-Commerce, you know someone will always be able to answer your questions. You don't necessarily get this security when you go with a general host.

However, if you want complete control over your website, you might be better off paying for hosting and a domain name and installing a third-party script. Many scripts exist for this purpose, but it's more labor intensive and isn't best if you're not technologically savvy. You can use social media as a way to improve consumer relations.

One way to get more traffic to your website is by maintaining a blog. Not only can you talk about new products, but you can write guides or post infographics that help buyers figure out which product is best for them. If you're stuck for ideas, think about questions that customers frequently answer them and write about those topics on your blog.

You might be surprised by how much time it takes to setup and promote your e-Commerce website, but a good foundation allows your store to grow and become more profitable in the future.
