She apologizes and urges him to let his anger out. “You mean don’t do something stupid? Drive my car through a wall? Or drink myself to death or at least try to?” he rehashes. He fumes how he always feels angry and betrayed and vows that he’s done feeling second best to Philip. “I’m not gonna let Belle and her stupid decisions mess up what I’ve worked for. This is the last time I let her screw up my life!” he asserts.
Shawn berates himself for letting Belle making a fool out of him. He reveals that he asked Belle for a divorce. Before they can discuss it any further, Philip arrives and warns Shawn that Belle’s in danger. He fills Shawn in on Chloe’s situation, but Shawn only tells Philip to get the he!! out. Outside the pub, Philip phones Marlena and insists he needs to speak to Belle, claiming he received a call from Claire’s school. Marlena tells him she’s with Sami.
Shawn later sits at the bar as Hope tries to assure him that she was only trying to protect him by keeping the truth from him about Belle’s infidelity. Shawn actually displays understanding towards her, insisting that it’s a new year and he needs to stop blaming others for his problems. “Good for you,” responds a contrite Hope. “On my own,” he adds before walking out.
Back at Marlena’s, Roman assures her that Belle will call if she needs her. Marlena then asks if he has news on Crystal. Roman says no, but he has information on the medallion.
He displays the copy of the photo and reveals that the jeweler indicated that the medallion is a mark of a warrior woman. He’s not sure where it was made or who it was made by, but will keep her updated. Roman then questions why it’s so important to track down this “so-called” psychic. Marlena wonders how one would explain Crystal knowing about the photo of John as a child. Roman suspects a con. Marlena thinks Crystal’s up to something, but doesn’t believe she’s a con artist. She queries why the face of John’s photo was torn out of the picture and Crystal showed up at the psychic shop, then she was gone. Roman speculates Stefano’s involved and assures her that he will do his best to find out anything more about he picture. After he leaves, Marlena phones Stefano. Rolf and Stefano’s patient is in the lab lying down and manages to push a button on the phone. Marlena suspiciously asks Stefano to call her and wonders who’s on the other end.
Sami later greets Belle and Claire and invites them in. Outside Sami’s apartment, Crystal makes a mysterious phone call revealing that she found Belle at her sister’s apartment. Sami later chuckles and says she can’t believe how much Claire has grown. Belle then reveals that Shawn wants a divorce, since she confessed that she slept with Philip. Sami tries to assure Belle that Shawn will forgive her. Belle affirms that she loves Shawn with all of her heart and Philip’s out of her system. Sami then shocks Belle with news that Lucas shot EJ. Belle tries to console Sami, then berates herself for sleeping with her ex-husband. Sami offers to list off all the horrible things she’s done if it will make Belle feel better and admits she loves Belle a little more now that she’s not perfect. They are interrupted by a knock on the door, which happens to be Crystal and her cohort Rob. Crystal apologizes and informs Sami that there’s a silver car parked in their space. Belle offers to move it and exchanges hugs and “I love yous” with Sami before she and Claire leave. Outside Sami’s apartment, Crystal urges Belle to come with them, which frightens Belle and prompts her to yell for Sami. Crystal and Rob walk off. Philip approaches Belle, who is relieved and falls into his arms. Philip assures her she’s safe.
Philip, Claire, and Belle are back inside Sami’s apartment as Belle frantically states that she never got the visitors’ names. Sami apologizes for not answering the door to Belle right away, then rushes into the bedroom to attend to one of the crying twins. Philip deduces that Chloe was right when she mentioned that the two suspicious visitors were after Brady and were looking for Belle, too. Philip states his intentions to drive Belle and Claire back to Marlena’s and put a bodyguard on her. “Oh, no you’re not! The last thing I need is another strange man in my life,” refuses Belle. After they leave, Sami emerges from the bedroom with Johnny and wonders where Belle and Philip went. Lucas then leaves a message on the answering machine telling Sami to remember that he loves her.
At the DiMera mansion, Stefano inquires about Lucas’s arrest on the phone, then requests for Carmine to do something for him right away. As he later plays chess, he sternly warns Rolf that he’s out of patience with the houseguest and berates Rolf for falling behind every day. Rolf swears on his life that the patient will be ready. “No more promises! You must do what you have to do, and if you cannot, then I must do it, now!” seethes Stefano before he storms off.
EJ later pounds on the door of the DiMera mansion, where Rolf tells him that Stefano’s busy. They hear a suspicious scream inside. “Rolf, what is that?” EJ calmly inquires before he barges in and demands to know what’s going on. Rolf tells him it’s none of his concern, but EJ disagrees. Stefano emerges and insists that their houseguest doesn’t want to be disturbed, then wonders if EJ has come to apologize. EJ stresses that he’s welcome to see Johnny any time he wants to, but refuses to leave the boy alone with Stefano. He then brings up Lucas’s arrest and asks for Stefano’s word that Lucas’s life is spared before he goes to trial. Stefano is appalled by this request after Lucas shot him. EJ affirms that it’s his decision and insists he can’t deal with Stefano’s way of life. Stefano refuses to turn his back on his family’s traditions and everything he stands for just so EJ can pretend to be less than what he is. Stefano reveals that “the wheel has already started to move.” EJ quickly bolts.
In jail, a cop escorts Lucas to his jail cell and notes that it was the quickest arraignment he’s ever seen. Carmine, unfortunately, is his cellmate.
