How to Make Objects Line Up Straight in IL-2
- 1). Locate a group of ground targets on your radar. The icons may appear clustered so tightly that you can't see how they're arranged. You need to start about one mile away from the targets to give yourself plenty of time to line up your pass.
- 2). Gain some altitude and point the nose of your plane toward the ground. Use the target zoom feature to view the group of targets. Stationary targets, such as buildings or antiaircraft guns, are easier to line up on than moving targets, such as tanks or personnel carriers. Look closely at the arrangement of targets; they are usually lain out in a formation.
- 3). Focus on the first two targets and select the closest one if you are in range. Level out your wings and use the rudder to make minor steering adjustments until the second target disappears behind the first. Your wings should remain level until the first two targets are in line.
- 4). Wait until you're within about 328 yards of the first target and point the nose of the plane directly at the first target and start to dive. The group of objects should then scroll through your gun sight as you dive, pulling up before hitting the ground.
