How to Troubleshoot a Takagi Tk2
- 1). Verify that the Takagi water heater is connected to a power source if the unit is not working. Replace or reset the circuit breaker or fuse as needed.
- 2). Turn the gas supply valve counterclockwise to open if the water is not heating properly. Make sure the hot water line is connected to the hot water faucet. Increase the temperature on the control panel to a higher setting and allow several hours for the water temperature to adjust.
- 3). Lower the temperature on the control panel if the water is too hot. Allow several hours for the new water temperature to take effect.
- 4). Disconnect power and turn off the water to the unit if there is low water supply or the temperature is not accurate. Disconnect the cold water connection and use a small brush to clean the water filter inside the cold inlet. Reconnect and restore power.
- 5). Clean the household water fixtures and remove possible debris or obstructions if the water starts out hot, but turns cold. Clean the cold water filter and use only one appliance at a time that requires hot water.
- 6). Make sure the remote control has power and is turned "On" if the device is not operating the hot water heater as expected. Press the "Power" button and wait for the green light to illuminate to indicate power.
- 7). Contact Takagi if the problem persists or an error code appears on the display.
