    • 1). Purchase a face painting set and familiarize yourself with the colors. Make sure to have the specific colors you want for your spider painting. Typically shades of brown, black, yellow, and red are most widely used.

    • 2). Wipe off the face you are about to paint to ensure you have a clean palette. Oil and make-up can alter the color and look of your paint. You want to work with clean, dry skin.

    • 3). Take your brush and dip it in the color you want to paint the spider's body. First create a small circle for the head, then a larger circle for the body. Next, trace eight legs from the spider's body. Refer to a picture if you need help.

    • 4). Add an expression to the spider to characterize it. Paint white circles and add pupils for the eyes. Paint a smile with a red color to signify a smile or a frown. You can even create an evil spider character by adding teeth or a diagonal smile.

    • 5). Dust some baby powder on the image, after you've painted the spider on your participant's face. This will seal your artwork and ensure factors such as humidity or sweat won't destroy your work.
