Here are a few tips to quickly get to the Rift Leveling cap at level 50 so you can forget leveling for a while and just enjoy the Rift raids and the dungeon challenges while waiting for the next installment of upgrades to roll around.
The first thing to remember in Rift is that leveling presents a slightly different challenge than other MMORPGs.
Leveling isn't linear, which means you get a small stat boost for every level you gain but you don't automatically learn new abilities.
Instead, it's a conscious decision to actually allocate skill points to abilities that you want to learn and build from there.
Each level grants you 1-2 skill points depending on where you are in the game.
Allocating the skill points simply means going to the skill tree and putting them where you want them to be, in effect allowing you to choose how to equip your character.
As a basic example, you can unlock the Marksman's Deadeye Shot skill by allocating 8 points on the soul tree for that skill.
This happens irrespective of the level you are in meaning some characters can actually posses excellent DPS or defensive skills depending on how they structure their skills.
Now, the more important question of quickly going up to reach the Rift leveling cap.
There are a variety of ways to do this; you can either go on quests or participate in dungeon or Rift raids.
Some ways are faster than others but they are also harder if not more challenging.
Invasion events or Rift raids happen just about any time during the game.
You can be on a quest and suddenly the skies will darken and monsters start coming out of nowhere.
A Rift event is best done in a group setting with a primary tank and healer and if successful, you can a lot of experience points - typically equivalent to killing a few monsters of your level.
The most ideal setting is to stick with a group of at least 20 people when doing a raid.
PvPs are also excellent sources of experience points.
When you pick up a PvP quest and manage to complete it, you can general rake in experience in half the time that is required to complete it in any other setting.
Warfronts grant the same level of experience points and when you combine it with questing and dailies, you are leveling faster than normal.
Lastly, use the questing system to get to the Rift Leveling cap whenever you are not with a group to do a Rift raid.
Quests are given in questing hubs and you can oftentimes get a lot of them in one small area.
The best way is to complete all the quests that you accepted before you return to the hub so you save time traveling from one place to another.
From all this, you will have to make the best character build possible.
Regardless of what you do, everything boils down to the strength of your character so read up on build guides to help you grow your character regardless of the soul class you selected.
Do that and you should have no problem getting to the Rift Leveling cap in no time.
