It is important to remember that people are not machines, so providing employees with a break area is important so having a coffee machine, small refrigerator and a microwave for snacks can also be beneficial for employee morale.
Wall decorations such as wildlife or outdoor artwork works great for making the office a more relaxing and enjoyable place to work in and because the artwork is on the walls it doesn't take up any much needed space.
Potted plants also work great to make a confining office space more comfortable to spend time in.
Remember that hanging plants from the ceiling also makes use of space wisely and you can now find fake plants that don't require any maintenance and look like the real thing.
Pay close attention to your lighting because harsh bright lights can cause fatigue.
You can use softer fluorescent lights for the overall lighting in the office and then have smaller localized brighter lights for the computer area and work areas.
