Fairmont Singapore Hotel Hosts 2010 Youth Olympic Games

London is now busy preparing for the 2012 Olympic Games, but Singapore is even busier with only about a year of preparation for the Youth Olympic Games on August 14 to 26, 2010.
This sports event aims to encourage young athletes from around the world to exemplify and embody the values of the Olympics such as excellence, friendship and respect.
This event seeks to instill true sportsmanship in these young athletes, aged between 14 and 18 years old, and will be competing in 26 sports.
2010 YOG is expecting 3,600 athletes from all over the globe, 800 officials from the 205 National Olympic Committees, 800 media representatives from major TV networks internationally, 20,000 local and international volunteers and half a million spectators, fans and sport enthusiasts.
To welcome, entertain and host the participants, YOG appointed Fairmont Singapore as their official hotel partner for this event.
