Candidiasis is one of the most common diseases of human.
The species that is responsible for this infection is Candida albicans whichis aspecies of yeast.
Generally women are the most affected by this infection.
However, men and children can also be affected by this infection.
Generally the human immune system limits the growth of these yeasts.
So,healthy people are less expected to be suffered from yeast infection.
In adults and infants the most common infection is oral candidiasis or thrush.
The most affected area for women is the genital area.
The symptoms of vaginal candidiasis are discharge of a white, cheesy, curd like liquid and itching, burning, and irritation.
You need to undergo some tests to make sure that you got candidiasis before taking any steps to eliminate it.
You need a full gynecologic exam to diagnose a vaginal candidiasis which is the only way to identify it.
A rapid exam of the skin or in the mouth, in case of healthy children and adults, can confirm the diagnosis.
Generally the treatment of yeast infection is not so tough and it is quick too.
But if you have some other diseases at the same time which can weaken your immune system then you should consult with a doctor immediately.
Miconazole, Butoconazole, Tioconazole, Clotrimazole etc are the most general medications for candidiasis.
You can use antifungal like Daktarin Oral Gel (which contains Miconazole) which stops the yeast from the production of ergosterol for eliminating yeast infections like thrush which is very vital for the yeasts to continue to exist.
Adults have some other treatments available such as fluconazole (Diflucan) or troches (antifungal lozenges) that can not be used for babies.
