Dealing With Depression
Depression involves deep guilt and loss of self esteem.
We want to break up depressive thinking because it drains your energy and makes it difficult to do what it takes to get better.
To deal with depression we can start small by making positive choices each day.
It is hard to take action when you are depressed.
Even the sheer thought of taking action can be daunting and exhausting when one is depressed.
But we can do anything and are no slave to depression.
Lets start small.
I want you to create several small objectives and goals that you would like to accomplish; some of you already have these in mind.
These can be anything from going on a short walk, to making a meal for yourself, to meeting up with a friend or loved one.
Then reward yourself for each task you accomplish.
In most cases, beating depression takes more than just the individual suffering from it.
We cannot always see things clearly and keep things in perspective by ourselves.
Reaching out for help is difficult when depressed but isolation makes depression worse.
Many reasons and excuses tend to come to mind when you think of reaching out to friends and family.
The main excuse is lack of energy and too exhausted.
But you DO have the energy.
The depression is talking for you when you feel you have too little energy to make the effort.
You will make great recovery leaps if you can share what you are experiencing with the ones you trust and love.
Ask for help getting through this.
Also, social venues and and activities will make you feel less depressed.
You should look to join a support group for depression as well.
You are not the only one suffering from depression.
There are groups around you that help each other and give advice and share experiences to cope with depression.
You should take care of yourself and be sure to fit activities into your day that you enjoy.
Get some sunlight each day, get enough sleep each night, even play with a pet or read a good book.
There is joy to be had from life and we all deserve that joy.
Exercise is awesome for dealing with depression.
Try for 30 minutes of exercise a day if you can but even a short 10 minute exercise session will do wonders for you.
Lastly, eating healthy and keeping a balanced diet will give you a bit more energy.
This is one of the many resources that can help you overcome depression and get joy from life again.
