    • 1). Set the oven temperature according to the recipe you're using or the chart on the oven bag box (325 degrees F is a usual temperature to bake roasts).

    • 2). Place 1 tbsp. flour into the oven bag. Hold the opening of the bag closed and shake the flour around. This will prevent the bag from bursting.

    • 3). Spread the oven bag out in the baking pan so the opening faces the wide side of the pan. Place the roast or other food inside the bag; arrange it so it's one layer and even. Twist the opening of the bag closed and secure it with the nylon tie that's provided.

    • 4). Cut six 1/2-inch slits in the top of the oven bag to vent it. Tuck the sides and ends of the bag into the baking pan.

    • 5). Place the baking pan on an oven rack. Check to make sure the bag has ample room to expand without touching any other part of the oven. Lower an oven rack if need be.

    • 6). Set the oven timer according to the recipe or the chart. When the food is finished baking, use hot pads to carefully remove the pan from the oven. Cut open only the top of the oven bag and fold the sides back.

    • 7). Remove the baked food from the oven bag with a cooking fork and/or spoon and transfer it to a dish or platter. Carefully stir the sauce in the bag until it's smooth and free of lumps. Spoon it on top of the food or place it separately into a dish. Discard the oven bag.
