A Clear Call To Action Is A Must

There are many important points to email marketing that if done correctly will make you successful. One of the most important points is the call to action. Without a call to action your email messages are useless. A strong call to action tells the recipient what you want them to do in a clear, to the point, way.

The call to action is the part of your email that urges your recipient to do something. It is crucial because it is the whole point of your email to get the recipient to do something. You have to let the recipient know what the point is to your email and what you expect them to do. It has to be clear or the entire point will be missing.

Format a Call to Action

You need to work carefully on how you will format your call to action. You want it to be clear. You need to write so that when a person reads it they understand exactly what you want them to do. It also has to be concise. You can not simply tell someone to buy and then not direct them to how to buy. You need directions that tell them exactly how to carry out your request.

Your call to action does not have to be camouflaged or hidden. In fact, it should be right out there and recognizable. You want the recipient to know that you expect them to do something and not have to guess about it. Make it recognizable and make it easy for them to follow through.

Avoid Distractions

You do not want to put a call to action in too often. One call to action is enough. You can put it wherever you want, but generally at the end is a common place. You can try out different positions to see what works best with your situation.

You want to avoid a lot of links that can distract from your real call to action. You do not want to put in too many links because this can confuse a person about what they need to do. It muddles up your call to action and defeats the whole purpose.

Keep it simple. You want to make a statement and provide a direct link. Make sure above all that your link works. Test it out. If you provide a bad link then you are going to cause yourself problems.

Your call to action is the most important part of your email. The whole point of doing email marketing is to get people to buy. If you do not have a call to action or your call to action is unclear then you are defeating yourself. You want to ensure that your call to action is something that works. Test out different ideas and try new things to see what works best with your contacts. Never be afraid to ask for the sale. That is the bottom line of business. If you do not ask the customer to buy then they may never make the purchase.
