How to Build an Enclosed Terrarium With a 10-Gallon Aquarium
- 1). Insert a layer of soil into a 10-gallon aquarium. The soil layer should be somewhere between 2 and 6 inches deep depending on the use for the terrarium.
- 2). Insert plants into the aquarium. If you are going to have some kind of pet living in this terrarium, such as a pet lizard, then you don't want to insert too many plants. Three to four potted plants should be enough.
- 3). Insert any additional décor into the terrarium. Additional décor may include logs, rocks and other stones.
- 4). Place the pet into the space. If you are keeping a pet, insert a dish for water and a dish for food.
- 5). Close the aquarium with a lighted lid. Most aquariums have lids that are already wired for lighting; use that kind of aquarium if possible.
