"Jericho" Returns for Season Two!
When the fans of the post-apocalyptic drama Jericho learned that CBS had canceled the series, they went nuts - literally! The fans launched an unprecedented campaign to save the show and the New York and Los Angeles CBS offices were the lucky recipients of more than 20 tons of peanuts. It worked and the show was renewed for a season consisting of seven episodes.
But is seven episodes enough to continue the story?
If you ask any fan of the series this question, you'll more than likely get one of many derogatory remarks. After watching the first three episodes of season two, I can honestly say TPTB have jam-packed these episodes with loads of twists and turns -- enough to satisfy any viewer for the time-being.
Remember - if you want to see a third season, you need to watch now. If you have Tivo, be sure to record each episode since Nielsen now collects data to give the networks. Ask everyone you know to Tivo the show. Spread the word - this campaign will not work twice.
Here's a little preview of what to expect this season on Jericho:
- The military saved the residents of Jericho from New Bern's potentially deadly attack.
- Right after the opening title sequence, look for the "Nuts!" to play a cameo.
- Esai Morales joins the cast as Major Beck - the military man in charge of getting Jericho back on its feet. Beck is a good guy working among what we'll learn to be a corrupt new government.
- Jennings & Rall is a company full of bad, bad people - but there is one character who is willing to go against her bosses for the greater good.
- Jake and Emily are back together -- and when Heather returns, this will not make her too happy.
- Major Beck recognizes Jake as a leader and asks him to be the new Sheriff in town.
- There is a new President. He was not elected by the people and only presides over the states west of the Mississippi.
- The search is on for Sarah and Hawkins will do everything in his power to keep the truth from coming out.
- The town is overjoyed when power is finally restored to Jericho.
- One of the military guys sent to Jericho is a former associate of Hawkins. He has quite a bit of disturbing information to pass along and the two will work with Jake to keep the military from finding out what happened to Sarah.
- Watch for an extremely sweet romantic moment between Stanley and Mimi after he makes a deal with Jennings & Rall to get out of his tax jam.
- A deadly virus (the Hudson Virus) sweeps through the states east of the Mississippi, but when it crosses the boarder, things get very dangerous for our favorite residents.
- If you thought the show couldn't possibly get any more exciting, wait until the end of episode three when Hawkins gets a mysterious call. This will likely prove to be a game-changer folks!
