Synopsis:

Crossing Jordan covers a team of medical examiners as they assist the local police department in determining if a crime is a homicide and, using forensic evidence, help solve it.

They are guided by Dr. Garrett Macy (Miguel Ferrer), a gruff and sometimes unlikable, head of the Boston morgue. Dr. Jordan Cavanaugh (Jill Hennessey) is an enthusiastic medical examiner who has been known to "cross the line" in her investigations of criminal activities. Teamed up (both professionally and personally) with Det. Woodrow "Woody" Hoyt (Jerry O'Connell), Jordan sometimes takes unorthodox measures to solve the crime, while Woody likes to play it by the books.

The forensic team is composed of a sensitive entomologist nick-named "Bug" (Ravi Kapoor), British criminalist Nigel (Steve Valentine), and always present is grief counselor Lily Lebowski (Kathryn Hahn).

In the end Det. Hoyt "gets his man," Jordan is forgiven and all is right in the Boston Medical Examiners Office.
