How to Fix a Toilet With a Razor Stuck in It

    • 1). Straighten a wire coat hanger and slightly squeeze the hooked end together. Leave the hook open at the bottom of the hook.

    • 2). Work the coat hanger into the bowl and try to hook it around the razor. Keep trying to free the razor with the hanger until you can reach inside the bowl and pull it out.

    • 3). Remove the toilet from the flange if you can't extricate the razor from inside the bowl using the previous method. Turn off the water supply at the shut-off valve under the left side of the toilet tank. Twist the knob completely clockwise. Bail water out of the tank and bowl, using a small plastic container and a sponge. Use the adjustable wrench to disconnect the water supply hose from the flush valve and to remove the toilet bolts on either side of the base. Pick the toilet straight up off the flange.

    • 4). Place the toilet on its back, reach into the drain hole on the bottom and pull out the razor. Wear rubber gloves to protect your hands.

    • 5). Reinstall the toilet once the razor has been successfully removed.
