- Sherwood ATV owners are always looking for a new and exciting place to ride. There are several locations in Missouri, both private and public, with trails specifically designated for ATV fun. The trails at these sites range in complexity and skill level, offering a challenge to almost any rider.
- In Chadwick, Missouri the National Forestry Service has provided ATV enthusiasts with a section of the Mark Twain National Forest designated for their use. This location is separated from a 12-acre section of forest, with over 80 miles of trail specifically for ATV riding. You can explore the area for yourself, or maps are available for route planning. Most of the trails leave directly from the recreation area which has bathrooms and picnicking space, and spirals out into the bluffs and forest areas surrounding it. ATV riding permits are required for area use, and can be purchased from the National forestry service as daily or yearly passes. Riders can camp at nearby Cobb Ridge, which has 50 camp sites, both with and without electrical access.
Sutton Bluff, near Centerville, Missouri, has a series of point-to-point ATV trails, totaling about 20 miles, which cut between forestry service and county roads. Legally accessing these ATV trails requires purchase of both a Reynolds County, and a National Forestry Service access passes. The trails are known for being both rugged and steep, and are great for advanced riders. This location offers camping as well as convenient access to not only the ATV trails, but also swimming, canoeing and fishing in the Black River.
