When it comes to protecting your iPhone, a lot of iPhone cases — the good ones, at least — appear to be roughly the same. They protect the sides and back of your iPhone, leave space for you to get at the volume and ringer buttons, don’t cover the camera, let you click the hold button.


The really good cases make the iPhone easier to hold, less likely to slip out of your hand, and simple to slip in and out of your pocket.

The XtremeMac TuffWrap for iPhone case does all of these things. For those reasons alone this rubbery, easy-to-grip case would get high marks. But it includes something that I haven’t seen another iPhone case give users as part of its standard package: a screen protector.

Despite initial claims that the iPhone’s screen was nearly unscratchable, that’s turned out not to be true and even though the screen is strudy, it’s still a good idea to protect the screen if you can. The choice of most people for this protection is some kind of clear overlay film that protects the screen from gouges and scratches while at the same time being thin enough not to interfere with the touchscreen.

The TuffWrap includes a screen protector in its packaging as part of the total iPhone protection kit. Of course, these films wear out after a while and you’ll need to replace them, but getting one included with this case puts you one step ahead of that purchase, which is nice.

Including that screen protector is a sign that XtremeMac has really thought through what iPhone users need out of their cases. If you’re looking for an iPhone case that will fully protect your phone, you won’t find a more complete option that the XtemeMac TuffWrap for iPhone.
