Getting a good night's sleep is paramount to your well being.
It is only when we sleep that our minds and bodies are afforded a chance to rest; only at rest do our minds and bodies have the chance to heal.
Follow these four tips to get the best sleep possible.
1) Be careful about what you eat.
What you put inside your body has everything to do with how your body behaves.
You cannot load it with fatty greasy meals that take hours to fully digest, then expect your body to be in the mode to wind down.
Make dinner a lighter meal than lunch and you'll find falling to sleep an easier affair.
2)Get good exercise.
It's important for your body to feel appropriately tired at the end of the day.
If you don't exert yourself, your body won't feel the urgency to shut down.
This doesn't mean that you should exhaust yourself by any means, but you should certainly make an effort to get a bit of physical activity into each day.
3)Avoid excess stimulation.
If you fill your eyes and mind with flashing images immediately before you try to fall asleep, your brain will still be trying to calibrate from the over stimulation.
Spend the hour before bedtime engaged in a calming activity.
Reading a book is always a good decision.
4)Lay your head down with an uncluttered mind.
If you're worried about paying the mortgage before you go to bed, you're likely getting a one way ticket to tossing and turning.
Think relaxing thoughts in the time before bedtime and your pillow will be far more likely to reward you.
There are a million and one ways to find a good night's sleep.
These busy days, it is ever more important.
