Like any other game, softball has it's rules and regulations.
Because it's called softball, that does not make it a soft game.
For a softball game to begin, fresh rules do require that the umpires check to make sure all tools that will be used in the game are fit and secure.
This will therefore mean that any cracked or broken bat will not be allowed on the field plus a helmet that has been altered of is damaged will be prohibited.
These rules all follow the safety awareness policy of ASA.
A coin toss decides the side that will start the game.
A softball field consists of the infield and the outfield.
To score, a batter can either hit the home-plate or the base-runner can safely run the home-plate.
If the softball will be hit to the right side of first base or to the left side of the third base, that will be a foul.
A ball is if the pitch does not enter the strike zone, and four balls are equal to a walk.
But if the pitch enters the strike zone, its termed as a strike and three strikes will lead to an out.
An out can also occur if base-runners are tagged with a ball before reaching the base or if the defense team catches the ball on air.
Three outs lead to team changing roles.
After seven innings, a standard softball game is considered to be full time, and the team with the highest innings will win the match.
