How to Disconnect the Water Line on a French Door Refrigerator
- 1). Move the refrigerator away from the wall outlet so that the rear is accessible.
- 2). Unplug the refrigerator from the wall outlet.
- 3). Turn off the water supply valve, by turning the handle clockwise until tight.
- 4). Look for the water inlet valve, which is connected to the water supply line. On some refrigerators, you must remove the lower-rear access panel to access the water inlet valve.
- 5). Remove the screws securing the lower-rear access panel of the refrigerator, then remove the panel. Skip this step if the water inlet valve is not located behind the rear access panel.
- 6). Loosen the compression nut on the end of the water supply line, then unthread the nut from the water inlet valve.
- 7). Place the end of the water supply line in a bucket to catch the water remaining inside the line.
