    • 1). Remove any clothing on the mannequin and set those articles aside. Inspect the mannequin for wear and tear. Repair or discard a mannequin with large cracks or tears in its plastic surfaces.

    • 2). Scrub the mannequin with warm, soapy water and brushes. Rinse with fresh water.

    • 3). Soak the mannequin with a bleach solution made from 1/4 cup household bleach per gallon of water for at least 10 minutes. Discard the solution.

    • 4). Rinse the mannequin well with fresh water. Dry the mannequin and swab it thoroughly with alcohol to help kill any remaining bacterial or fungal growth.

    • 5). Wash the mannequin's clothes and hair once a month or whenever they are visibly dirty. You can use a mild laundry detergent or liquid soap.
