Brenda Millson, from Newcastle received an anonymous letter attacking her 13-year-old autistic grandson who visits her during the summer. The letter, signed "One pissed off mother" complained that the boy made "whaling" noises that scares "normal" children.

The letter included comments like:

"It scares the hell out of my normal children!!!!!!!"

"Go live in a trailer in the woods or something with your wild animal kid!!!"

"Do the right thing and move or euthanize him!!!

Either way, we are ALL better off!!!"

"...take whatever non retarded body parts he possesses and donate it to science."

Canadian prosecutors have decided that the letter does not constitute as a hate crime, but rather charges like harassment, or the use of mail to send indecent, obscene or scurrilous material.
