  • 1). Scrape away thick algae growth using a plastic scraper. Empty the algae shavings into a trash receptacle.

  • 2). Fill a large bowl with warm water. Don your rubber gloves to protect your hands while mixing the powdered oxygen bleach. Add powdered oxygen bleach to the water using one of the proportions listed on the container.

  • 3). Saturate your scouring pad with the solution and scrub the algae stain using a rapid circular motion. Check your progress often to ensure that the stain is fading. Moisten the scouring pad with new solution as needed.

  • 4). Rinse the area with fresh, cool water. Dry the area completely with a towel.
