According to WebMD, a lack of protein can lead to loss of hair color. Include whole grains and oysters in your diet, because they contain zinc, an antioxidant that boosts the health of your hair.

    • 2). Get a flattering haircut, because the wrong hair cut can make you look older. A youthful haircut can include side-swept bangs, tousled hair and layers. Avoid getting your hair cut short or into a bob. Choose a longer hairstyle that can be worn in different ways, so you can experiment with your hair.

Apply the conditioner to your hair according to packaging instructions, because different deep conditioners may have different usage requirements.

    • 7). Avoid exposure to ultraviolet rays. The sun can strip your hair's moisture, pigment and shine. Protect your hair with a hair sun-protecting spray, or put on a hat.
