How to Cook With Fresh Parsley
- 1). Wash the fresh parsley immediately before using it. Rinse one bunch of parsley under cold, running tap water until any dirt or debris is gone. Pat the herb gently with a paper towel to dry.
- 2). Clean several bunches of parsley by soaking them in a bowl filled with cold water. Move the herbs around with your hand to remove any dirt or debris. Transfer the herbs to another bowl of cold water and repeat the process until they are thoroughly clean. Dry the parsley with paper towels.
- 3). Chop fresh parsley into small pieces before adding them to a recipe. Cut the parsley over a bowl using kitchen scissors. Place the herbs on a cutting board and mince them using a sharp paring knife as another option.
- 4). Add the parsley to a dish, such as sauce or soup, during the last few minutes of the cooking process to preserve the herb's fresh taste. Sprinkle parsley over plated food to add color as well.
