Eating healthy was not something you worried about growing up; you simply ate everything that tasted good! And vegetables never tasted good to a young kid.
Being reared in the South by Filipino parents, everything that tasted good was usually fried in shortening or bacon grease.
Through the years of unhealthy eating, the results are health problems associated with eating foods with high fat content and not eating enough fruit and vegetables..

Overweight, High Cholesterol and High Blood Pressure.
This should be a wake up call to correct the problem, so we tend to look for guidance and support to learn the fundamentals of eating the right foods in the right proportions.
Along with exercise and taking dietary supplements, you can slowly loose the weight and lower your cholesterol; and unfortunately medication is the only remedy to lower high blood pressure.
For most, diets are not really an option that works; because after losing the first 10 pounds, you tend go back to your old eating habits.
The train of thought is, "That was easy, one cookie cannot hurt".
That is if you stop at the one cookie.
How many of us every first of the New Year make the resolution to lose weight? We join health gyms; we go on diet programs sponsored by Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, NutriSystem, South Beach Diet; and we drink the milkshake diet drinks by Slimfast.
A lot of people tried them; lost the weight and they either kept it off or gained what they lost and then some! It becomes a vicious circle, and we all have been there..
..
right? Unless you have the money to continue to buy the prepared foods to keep the weight off; not to mention the weekly fee of counseling; you must make the commitment to maintain that healthy weight by eating healthier.
It is all about making the right choices that will work for you and sticking to the plan to reach your goal in losing weight the right and healthy way.
Maintaining the healthy weight can be easy as getting the unhealthy foods and snacks out of the kitchen by replacing them with fresh fruit and vegetables, whole grain products and nutrient-rich foods.
