Things to Do With Your Kids: How to Make an Elephant Out of Play Dough
You can do many things with play dough.
Here is one I found to be so much fun with my kids.
Making an elephant out of play dough isn't very hard to do.
I found that using your imagination you can create almost any animal.
Here's how you can make an elephant out of play dough.
Break up 9 pieces of play dough.
One large piece for the body.
Four medium sized pieces of dough for the legs.
One medium round sized play dough for the head.
One long sized dough for the trunk.
Two smaller round pieces for the ears.
One smaller long piece for the tail.
Two tiny balls for the eyes.
Now, roll the large piece for the body into a cylinder shape, next with the 4 medium pieces roll into similar sized cylinder shapes as these are the elephant's legs.
Line them up in 2 rows.
Place the body on top and squish the legs into the body.
With the medium round piece of dough, roll into a ball and carefully press on to one end of the body.
This is the head.
With the long piece, make sure this piece is short enough to hang from the head.
Make this piece a bit thicker at one end and thinner at the other as this end is the elephant nostrils.
Carefully press the thicker end to the middle of the head.
Now with the last 2 smaller round pieces for the ears, roll into balls and press with your thumb.
These are the ears, carefully press these on the side of the elephant head.
With the last small long piece, make it thin long piece and make it short so that it hangs above the back of the elephant's body.
Now, put the 2 tiny balls on each side of the trunk on the head.
These are the eyes.
There you have it, your very own elephant! You can create many animals with a bit of imagination you will soon be able to create a zoo full of animals for you and your kids to play with.
I have found a few more play dough animals and games to play with my kids.
They love to play with play dough and so do I.
