This can be caused by an error in the hard drive or the fans that make them suck up too much power, it can also be caused if you have unnecessary accessories attached to the console like an external fan unit.
The E68 error message means that you have a corrupt or failed HDD (Hard drive), giving your Xbox 360 1 red light of doom.
Which means? Which means your Xbox cannot run normally with this error hanging obviously.
So what do you do then? First thing you would do is call Microsoft office and schedule a pickup for your Xbox 360, to be repaired right? NO! That's a BIG NO! unless, you want to spend a hundred bucks for repair right? There is no security of Microsoft fixing this problem too, and not to mention.

Well you could always follow your safe way of fixing your Xbox troubles.
You can also proceed to the Xbox support site that is run by Microsoft.
There are some handy features there if you create an account.
You can register your console you might find out that your warranty is still there.
The repair section of the site is what I don't like, because the whole process just pushes you to buy a new one.
Rather than fixing your own Xbox 360 1 red light error.
But still you can always call; if you really want your Xbox "in good hands".
You can use the phone number 1-800-4MY-XBOX.
You will enter an automated assistance system that is a little bit annoying if you have already figured out your problem.
Just say "agent" at any time and you will be directed to a real, live person.
And you don't have to wait any longer for an agent to talk to you.
You have to provide your Xbox 360 serial number and some personal information before you start.
They will ask you information about your Xbox error; obviously you don't know that's why you're calling right? They will then give you reference # for your case.
Then you send your Xbox baby to them to let them fix your Xbox with their "experts", of course you need to pay for the freight.
And not to mention the 2-3weeks waiting time, Tedious isn't it? Just try to follow my guide above and try to fix your Xbox 1 red light error, and save you this hassle of calling Microsoft and your time.
