Halloween Edition: Facebook Tactics That Scare Away Customers

What makes a good scary movie? I think it would be one that has its customers running and hiding with their hearts pumping.
What about the jump-scare? You know, the part in the movie when the psycho killer is standing right behind the victim or the possessed girl finally comes out of the well.
Okay, back to the article.
Here are a few tactics that would not scare a customer out of their seat but will scare them away from your social media platforms.
1.
Using your personal page as a business page.
This is one tactic that I have seen and ran away from faster than Jamie Lee Curtis in the movie Halloween H2O.
Why do I run from these types of personal pages used as a business pages? One reason is that I can't simply like your page.
I have to be added as a friend.
Secondly, I probably liked your business page for business reasons.
Thus I would not want to see a lot of information about your personal life.
Third, if caught by Facebook, your page could be deleted.
2.
Posting irrelevant content.
It has been said that content is king.
Remember when posting try to make 70 percent of the post related to the industry that your company is in.
3.
A boring page.
Some Facebook business pages only post text, and this could get a bit boring.
Try to post images, articles, and videos to spruce up a boring page.
Sprinkle in some company information, fill in the blanks, and other content that will increase engagement.
4.
Incomplete information.
Not filling out the business information in the profile sections can lower your visibility on Facebook.
Facebook's Graph Search is a feature that helps customers find local businesses.
By not choosing the correct category for your business or by neglecting to include a website address in the "Page Info" section, you may be missing out on potential customers.
5.
A ghost page.
Have you seen a ghost movie lately? For example, in the movie Casper the Friendly Ghost, the ghost would show up sporadically.
I have noticed many business pages on Facebook that may post once a month.
Think about this.
If someone talked to you once a month, how would you get to know that person? 6.
Bad grammar.
Many of us have misspelled a word or two, but misspelling to the point of not being able to understand the message is SCARY.
Social media is about building communities.
You don't want to scare your community by using the tactics above.
Instead, post relevant content.
Make content relevant to your industry and what is happening now.
Post tons of pictures, articles, and videos.
Lastly, make sure to proofread your post.
Then you will have tons of fans running to like your Facebook page.
