Starting A Business On eBay From Day One
EBay is one really great opportunity for those of us who'd like to make more money. You can be a high-schooler or a grandpa or someone in between. Now it's easy for anybody to become an entrepreneur.
Where do you begin? Well, at first you just sign up for an eBay account and a PayPal account. PayPal makes it easy for you to take and send money without giving credit card information to any individual. You've secured your information with PayPal, so your transactions become easy.
What do you want to sell? Just start by looking around your own home or apartment. Chances are there are lots of things you've outgrown or don't like anymore, but someone else would. Maybe you received an item as a gift at the holidays or for a birthday and have never even opened it. These kinds of things can be sold on eBay through your account and whatever pictures and descriptions you put up.
Your old stuff can become a source of income! After a while, as this becomes second nature to you, you'll want to focus on the kinds of items you might want to specialize in on a regular basis.
Once you've isolated this information, you can look online for people who wholesale this kind of product. Wholesalers will give you the best price, usually for bulk orders. Those that drop ship mean you won't have to keep an inventory yourself, which is very convenient.
Just be careful that you pick the reputable companies and not the con artists. You must get the items you sell as cheaply as possible or you'll have to charge too high a price that might risk turning off potential buyers.
If you don't charge a price high enough to cover your wholesale price and overhead, including your hours of work, you won't actually be making a profit so it won't be worth it to you.
Make sure you deal responsibility with your own customers, no matter how small the task. When you have good customer service, you get a good eBay rating when reviews are asked for.
Many customers will not buy from anyone who doesn't have a nearly hundred percent positive rating because they fear they won't get their item, or won't get it in time, or won't be able to return it if something is wrong. So treat your eBay account like the service business it is and you'll make lots of profits.
