Man in Black

• If you've got a suit handy, you can create the quintessential Man in Black look, popularized by the 1990s Will Smith movie "Men in Black." The characters in the movie are actually interstellar secret agents, but the costume lends itself to any government agent or even a bouncer role. The basis of the costume is a black suit, consisting of pants or a skirt with a white shirt, black tie and black shoes. Sunglasses and a toy gun complete the look.
  
  

Toga

• All you'll need to recreate the Ancient Roman look that's so popular with partying college students is a mundane white twin bed sheet, coupled with a bunch of safety pins to hold it together. To put on the toga, simply wrap the sheet horizontally around your waist a few times, and use the pins to hold the toga in place where it meets. Then throw the rest of the sheet over your shoulder and use another pin to hold it in position.
  
  

Ghost

• If you've got a sheet handy, you can create the traditional Halloween ghost look by cutting a pair of eye holes in a strategic position and throwing the sheet over your head so your eyes can look out. You can make this outfit a little more exciting by adding fake bloodstains to the sheet, or perhaps wrapping chains or ropes around your torso or arms. Try removing the top of the sheet entirely, so it fits like a poncho, and then utilizing grisly make-up on your face to add impact.
  
  

Zombie

• Undead zombies don't require any special clothing; you simply need to have a few garments handy that you're willing to rip up to create mundane, but distressed, clothing. Then grab some basic make-up from a store to add grisly fake wounds and bloodstains to your face, clothing and any other flesh you've got showing. You can even go roll in some mud to add an authentically dirty edge to this outfit.
  
  

Chef

• You'll need to grab hold of some plain white clothes, including a pair of white pants, a shirt and an apron, to create a chef costume; a department store might be able to help here. The hardest part is getting the oversized chef's hat that completes the look. You can either make one yourself or check a party store. Raid your kitchen for utensils to put in your pockets, but ensure you don't bring anything dangerous.
