What is an affirmation? There are as many articles on affirmations as there are stars in the night.
Nevertheless, what is an affirmation? The dictionary explains that an affirmation is the act of affirming or instance of affirming or a state of being affirmed.
In addition, the dictionary states that an affirmation is the assertion that something exists or is true.
Evelyn Lim a popular author states, "Affirmations are positive thoughts or statements about some out come you wish to achieve, such as wealth, success or health.
Ok, I can accept these definitions but I would like to add another or different dimension to the definition of affirmation as well as where to find a wealth of declarations or affirmations.
Affirmations are truths acted on by faith, truths that come from God's word, the bible.
The bible contains hundreds of affirmations, declarations we can use, by faith to help us succeed in life.
For example, the bible tells us we are winners, we are important, wealth is available to His kids, and we are strong in Christ and on and on the promises go.
Therefore, it makes sense His children would, by faith, believe these promises and declare or affirm them to be true in their life.
You don't believe in God.
You think the bible is nothing but a fraud.
Well, that is certainly your business but you can still use positive affirmation to enrich your life.
However, you miss the key to affirmations.
The key is a deep personal relationship with the creator of human kind.
He knows humans because He made us in His image.
You can use affirmations for your own good but in most cases, you will use them for your own selfish means.
What good is wealth if you lose your soul? You might end up extremely wealthy and healthy but without a relationship with God through Jesus Christ what does wealth and health matter.
Rich but empty of meaning and purpose is misery.
Ask the rich and see what they say about the benefit of wealth without peace.
Gosh, to bad we can't ask Michael about peace verses money.
Ask the poor man who has a deep relationship with God and see which one has the most peace.
Ok, enough is enough.
