How to Test Insulated Gloves
- 1). Feel the gloves to check for a tacky feel. A tacky feel may indicate wear or damage to the glove from heat exposure or friction.
- 2). Visually check the gloves for swelling, nicks or cuts. Look in between each finger for any damage.
- 3). Grab the glove by the cuff and flip it around several times to create an air seal. Roll the glove toward the fingers near the palm area. An air pocket should form inside the glove.
- 4). Hold the rolled portion of the glove tightly and inspect the inflated part for cracking or any damage on the surface of the glove. Inflating the glove helps highlight any small defects.
- 5). Hold the glove close to your ear and listen for air escaping through pinholes in the glove. See if the glove keeps its inflation.
- 6). Discard the gloves if you find any defects.
