How to Use Nintendo Characters for Decorating a Bedroom
- 1). Choose the Nintendo characters you will be using to decorate your room. There are a number of characters you can choose from, such as the Super Mario Brothers characters or Donkey Kong.
- 2). Paint your walls. Choose a color that will complement the characters you choose. For example, if you choose the classic Super Mario Brothers' characters, paint your walls a sky blue, like the blue sky seen in the original game. Or if you choose Donkey Kong, choose a tan color to complement the brown in the barrels he throws.
- 3). Add detail to your walls. Once you have chosen a base color for your walls, you can then add detail with paint. For example, if you are going with the Super Mario theme, add a green line around the base of the wall to represent the grass he runs on. You can then add in other details on the walls such as power up blocks, the green tubes that he goes through and green bushes. Clouds can also be added using white paint. Or if you are going with the Donkey Kong theme, add girders and ladders to the wall to represent the levels you have to transverse in the game.
- 4). Add the characters. One option is to hand draw the characters. If you choose to hand draw them, use chalk to draw the outline of the characters and then paint the characters using acrylic paints. If you do not have artistic abilities, consider renting a projector. Then print your character images onto transparencies and project the image onto the wall. Once the image is projected, you can use chalk to trace the outline on the wall. Then wash the chalk away when you are done. Another option is to use store bought wall clings featuring the characters of your choosing.
- 5). Add your finishing touches. You can paint furniture to match your theme. For example, if you are going with the Super Mario Brothers theme, paint your dresser and book shelves the red and green of Mario and Luigi's hats. Or if you are going with the Donkey Kong theme, paint your furniture in shades of brown to make it look like the slats on a barrel. You can also place figurines of characters around the room on bookshelves or dresser tops.
- 6). Choose bedding in solid colors that complement your character theme.
