Seattleites Switch To 4g Phones

Seattle is one of the most technologically forward-thinking cities in the United States, if not the world. It is known across the country for its embrace of world-class technologies. This is largely because it is a major hub for computer engineering and science. Seattle is the home of the Microsoft Corporation, after all. Steve Jobs of Apple spent much of his life in Washington State as well. The citys major industries are based on technological innovation; it only makes sense that the people would be on the cutting edge, adopting gadgets like iPhones, Kindles, and wireless Internet before anyone else in the country.

One recent switch that many Seattle residents are making in terms of their choices of equipment and technology is adopting the newest, most effective generation of cell phones: 4G phones.

These cell phones allow Seattleites make more calls from more locations with better clarity. They can also access the mobile broadband Internet from their 4G phones, making them competitive with Blackberries and iPhones, but at a fraction of the cost. This is great for people of all stripes. The businesswoman who needs to contact a client in Japan at the last-minute can do so safely and confidently with her brand new phone. The college student who wants to look up some information right before an exam can quickly get onto his email to look at some notes that a friend emailed him. A computer scientist who is taking a break from work can quickly send a text message to her spouse to reconfirm their dinner plans for later in the evening. Regardless of your work, your personal life, or your needs and uses of a cell phone, making the switch to this new generation is always worth it.

That is why when walking down the streets of downtown Seattle, you are regularly confronted by people on these brand new cell phones. They are chattering away while taking a public bus. They are sending text messages while waiting in line at the movie theater. They are borrowing the Internet while out to lunch on a workday.

And just like with other technological innovations, the trend has started in Seattle, but is quickly spreading. First, people who live in the suburbs are beginning to adopt these phones. This often occurs initially with people who work in the city but actually commute from the suburbs. They bring the phones back into their bedroom communities, and their neighbors begin to take notice. Before you know it, the soccer moms and the teenagers are beginning to buy these phones as well. Then, eventually over time, people who live in more rural areas of Washington State begin to realize the convenience of the newest generation of Internet cell phones. With sparser populations, people who live in these areas in the west part of the state often have trouble getting good reception, as cell phone towers are few and far between. Once they get their hands on a brand new 4G cell phone, they can make phone calls just about anywhere they please.
