    • 1). Select a straight-shank hook.

    • 2). Cut the worm so it is about a half-inch longer than the hook would be if it were straightened out.

    • 3). Hold the worm so it is vertical. Insert the hook point into the center of the top of the worm.

    • 4). Thread the worm up the shank of the hook.

    • 5). Push the hook point out of the worm so that about a half-inch of the worm hangs off the hook.
