How to Play in the Rugby League
With thirteen players on each side, the team consists of six forwards and seven backs. The forwards are mostly responsible for bringing the ball forward by rushing it, while the backs are responsible for moving the ball by passing it. In rugby, the ball cannot be passed forward; it can be kicked forward but not passed forward.
The rugby game starts when the defensive team kicks the ball to an offensive team player. The offensive team player then tries to run and avoid being tackled. To avoid the opponent from getting possession, he can pass the ball backwards or kick the ball to a teammate. Passing the ball forward is prohibited as it gives an unfair advantage to the offensive team because anyone can pass the ball.
If tackled, the offensive player has to put the ball on the floor and pass it backwards to a teammate. In other rugby federations, when a player is tackled, they have to fight to keep possession. The possession in the Glendale rugby league is surrendered if the offensive team has been tackled six times before getting to score a goal. The defensive team resumes the offensive role from the point where the ball was dropped after the tackle.
Teams can score points in different ways. They are able to score four points if they can get to their end zone within the six tackle margin. After scoring four points, they get a chance to score an additional two points by kicking the ball in between goalposts. This type of scoring makes the Glendale rugby league a fast paced sport as compared to other rugby federations.
In the Glendale rugby league, people should not commit a foul when a person is in the act of reaching the end zone. People can try to stop him from reaching there but once he is in position and the player is pulled, hooked or dragged away from the end goal, a foul is called. The offensive team has a chance to score two points by kicking the ball between the goalposts. At any point, the offensive team can also kick the ball between the goalposts for one point.
