Different Yorkie Cuts

The puppy cut is an all-body short cut that is very easy to maintain. The dog's hair is cut to about 2 inches all over the body. The hair on the face is rounded out on the sides and the eyebrows are cut short. The name comes from the cut's resemblance to the Yorkie puppy coat. The coat still needs to be brushed daily but it takes less time and there are less tangles because the hair is short. - A modified West Highland Terrier cut has the Yorkie shaved about the body but leaving the face long and shaped, resembling that of a Westie.Chris Amaral/Digital Vision/Getty Images
The modified West Highland Terrier, or Westie, cut is achieved by shaving the whole body and leaving the face long and shaped. The body can remain a few inches long or be completely shaven depending on the owner's preference. You can also leave a short skirt on the underbelly like a Westie. The face should be trimmed into a circle that starts at the ears and goes down to the chin, leaving it with a short beard and short eyebrows. The Shnorkie is a modified Schnauzer cut. The cut keeps a long skirt on the underbelly and chest while shaving the back very short. The eyebrows are trimmed, like a schnauzer but slightly longer and brushed away from the eyes. The cut also features a beard around the mouth. The shnorkie cuts down on brushing time since the back is so short. The cut's longer face with the beard maintains the Yorkie look. - The Chinese Crested is hairless. This cut is inspired by the virtually hairless Chinese Crested dog. The hair remains long on the face, tail and legs while the body is sheared. The beard and ears are combed down and trimmed just below the jaw to make an even line. The beard can also be kept long. The legs are trimmed to a reasonable length which can be just above the floor.
