It is all too common nowadays for men to have man boobs.
If you are a man with breasts, and are reading this article, I guess you'll be looking for reasons why you have developed them.
Now I'm not going to mince words with you, or be polite about it, but face it, most men who have man boobs are fat, and I expect you are too.
So, I will be looking at the 3 most likely reasons you are fat.
Before I outline these reasons, a note about gynecomastia.
Most men who have man boobs have pseudo-gynecomastia, but there is a remote possibility that you have gynecomastia.
A visit to your doctor should work out which it is.
Gynecomastia is essentially a hormone related condition, when a man's testosterone to estrogen balance gets out of whack; whereas pseudo-gynecomastia is related to a weight condition.
So, these 3 reasons why you have man boobs relate more to the pseudo-gynecomastia.
The first reason why you have developed man breasts and are overweight is your diet is poor.
Do you live on junk or processed foods?If so, you'll be eating heaps of trans fat, sugar and high fructose corn syrup.
These foods are complicit in a range of health conditions: from heart disease, diabetes, and cancer, to Alzheimer's and depression, and these are just a sample.
The next reason why you have those man boobs is you are like a lot of busy people and don't either have the time or inclination to do regular exercise.
If you drive everywhere, rarely walk up stairs, and don't participate in any organised sports or visit the gym regularly, this will have seen you pile on the pounds.
The last reason why you have man boobs is you drink too much alcohol.
It is common for beer drinkers to develop a beer belly, but it is less widely known that alcohol consumption can influence a man's tendency to get man boobs.
Not only is alcohol full of empty calories, in large amounts it also can lower a man's testosterone level.
So, the solution to these 3 reasons is quite simple.
You need a whole lifestyle change, not just a quick fix that will eventually see you back at square one.
So, no fad diet, please, or just trying to do exercises that work the chest muscles, as that approach could see you make them worse.
Change your diet for a start.
Adopt a healthy diet, one based veggies, lean protein (chicken, fish, etc.
), whole grains, etc.
Try to incorporate regular exercise into your life.
Include a mix of cardio and weight training, and rather than concentrating on just the pectoral muscles, focus on working all muscle groups.
And finally, reduce the amount of alcohol you drink, especially beer.
