The Jersey Shore Reality show on MTV is one of the most popular reality shows.
It has completed two seasons with a huge amount of viewers and is moving into its third season.
The third season will be premiered on 21st January 2011.
The show features the life of eight housemates.
The episodes revolve around their relationships and other happenings.
These eight people are American Italians and they spend their summers together.
The largest Italian American organization, the UNICO National even asked the MTV not to broadcast the show.
This happened before the first episode was aired.
Even other Italian organizations like the NIAF, Italian Aware and the Order Sons of Italy in America joined the fight.
The controversies didn't end with that.
Many of the sponsors of the show like the Dell, Dominos, the American Family Insurance and other companies requested the MTV not to Air their advertisements during the show.
MTV responded to the controversies through a press release which said that "the Italian-American cast takes pride in their ethnicity.
We understand that this show is not intended for every audience and depicts just one aspect of youth culture.
" Despite all these issues, the show remains popular with a huge fan following.
The cast and their costumes are well-liked.
Most of the fans are awaiting the third season of the show.
Chris Christie, the New Jersey Governor, called the show "negative" because of the fact that most of the cast members are not from New Jersey.
He also goes on the state that the show drops a bunch of Young New Yorkers off in New Jersey to make America feel like that is how all young adults from New Jersey behave.
The Governor then goes on the say that Americans should experience the real New Jersey instead of judging it by watching it on MTV.
