Instructions

1

Combine your flour, cornstarch, seasoning salt, paprika, baking soda, Italian salad dressing powder mix, onion soup mix and your spaghetti sauce mix in a large bowl. Put your corn flakes in another bowl and crush them lightly.
2

Put your well-beaten eggs into a bowl with the water and combine. Put your corn oil into a heavy, roomy skillet and fill it to a 1-inch depth. Heat your skillet. Grease a 9- by 12-inch by 2-inch baking pan and set it to the side. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
3

Dip your chicken pieces, one at a time, in this order: dry coating mix, then into your egg and water mixture, into your corn flakes and briskly and briefly back into your dry mixture. After these steps, drop your chicken into your hot oil with the skin side down and brown it for about three to four minutes on medium high. Turn it and brown the other side of each piece.
4

Put your chicken in the prepared pan in a single layer, with the skin side up. Seal it in foil only on three sides, leaving 1 side loose for the steam to exit. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes and remove the foil to test the tenderness of your chicken. Bake it for another five minutes, uncovered, to crisp up your coating.
