The Suzuki RM 100 is the name of an off-road motorcycle produced by the Suzuki Motor Corporation, which is based in Japan. The Suzuki RM 100 is commonly used for the sport known as "motocross." The motorcycle was introduced in 1978 and continued to be produced until 1979. However, an updated version of the motorcycle was put onto the market in 2003, when it was last manufactured. - The Suzuki RM 100 has a liquid-cooled, two-stroke and single-cylinder internal combustion engine. Two-stroke engines are those that accomplish the thermodynamic cycle (for temperature and pressure) via two piston motions, while four-stroke engines require twice the amount. Single cylinder engines, which are often used on motorcycles, are basic and compact engines and are frequently used to conserve weight, although they require additional flywheel effect. The displacement of an engine describes the total volume of the cylinders within the engine, and the displacement for the Suzuki RM 100 is a little over 6 cubic inches. The motorcycle has a six-speed transmission, and has a compression ratio of 9.6:1. The term "bore x stroke" refers to the relation between the piston stroke's length and the cylinder bore's diameter. The bore x stroke of the RM 100 is 2.1 x 1.8 inches.
- Both the brakes in the front and the rear of the Suzuki RM 100 are single disc brakes. Disc brakes are essential for both the slowing down and ceasing of the rotation of a vehicle's wheels. Disc brakes are composed of a handful of different elements, which are brake pads, calipers, pistons and rotors. These components all work together to produce friction, which in turn slows the motion of the disc. Disc brakes have to eliminate all of the kinetic energy inside of a motorcycle to work properly.
- The Suzuki RM 100's dry weight is just under 150 pounds. Dry weight, unlike curb weight, is a term that is used to describe the full weight of a vehicle without any of its operating fluids, such as fuel. The overall height of the Suzuki RM 100 is 43.5 inches, while the overall width is slightly less than 29 inches, and the overall length is a little bit over 75 inches. The word "wheelbase" is used for the full distance between the middle of the front and rear wheels. The wheelbase for the motorcycle is just under 51 inches. "Ride height" or "ground clearance" is the distance between the motorcycle's tire base and the bottom of its framework. The seat of the motorcycle is 34 inches long. The motorcycle has a capacity for almost one and a half gallons of fuel.
