    • 1). Remove any unnecessary items or accessories from your golf cart. Consider getting rid of things such as the windshield, extra seats, brackets and compartments to lighten the cart and make it go faster.

    • 2). Power clean your cart with a hose and soapy water. Use the hose to remove any dirt from the outside of the cart and the tires, especially the grooves. This will help your cart work at maximum efficiecy.

    • 3). Add larger tires. The cart will be able to cover more ground per revolution with the same size engine.

    • 4). Adjust the governor in your cart. This is a small T-shaped rod located near the top of the engine next to the carburetor. Tape it or use a rubber band to push it toward the carburetor and hold it there.

    • 5). Add a larger engine to the cart. This requires that you have auto-repair expertise or get professional help, but a larger engine will make the cart go faster.
