Adams Idea Black Super Hybrid
The striking look of the Idea Black line shows up again in the Adams Idea Black Super Hybrids, which sport the same nickel-chromium plated finish as the Idea Black CB2 irons from the previous page.
The Idea Black Super Hybrid comes in lofts of 15, 17, 19 and 21 degrees for right-handers, and 15, 17 and 19 for lefties. The clubs are already in retail outlets, with an MSRP of $249.99. The stock shaft is the Aldila VooDoo NV 85 graphite shaft.
Tim Reed, Vice President of Research and Development for Adams Golf, called the Super Hybrid a "hybrid on steroids; bigger and more powerful." A larger clubhead is paired with a maraging steel face and a longer shaft in an effort to help golfers boost ball speed and distance.
These hybrids include adjustable weight screws so golfers can tinker with swingweight. More weight is moved to the sole, 85 grams of it, to boost MOI, and the tri-level sole helps reduce turf drag. adamsgolf.com

TaylorMade Rossa Corza Ghost Putter
The Rossa Corza Ghost from TaylorMade Golf is a large, high-MOI mallet putter whose name derives from its white finish.
Why white? It's all about aim, the company says. According to Dr. Steven A. Hitzeman, a professor at the Indiana School of Optometry who consulted on the putter design, the Corza Ghost's white clubhead helps the golfer focus because of the contrast with the much darker putter surface.
"Many golfers use the leading edge of the putter as part of their alignment strategy (by positioning the edge perpendicular to the imagined target line)," Dr. Hitzeman is quoted as saying in a company news release. "So, this high contrast for the leading edge gives the golfer the best chance of squaring up the putterface at address."
The putter head includes three black alignment lines, plus a ball-sized hole in the rear of the head. The golfer thereby has three options to choose from when aiming. Focus on the topline, the black lines, or the lines-and-hole? Select your preference.
The putter includes a face insert utilizing Rossa's AGSI+ anti-skid polymers. The Rossa Corza Ghost hits retail in June 2010, with two more models (a blade in mid-mallet) due in July 2010. taylormadegolf.com

Henry-Griffitts Praxis Fairway Woods
Clubs in the Praxis Fairway Wood series from Henry-Griffitts utilize Carpenter Custom 455 stainless steel in the face, a steel with a higher weight-to-strength ratio that results in a thinner, lighter face. That clubface is plasma-welded to the 17-4 stainless steel body, and the combination saves grams that are repositioned in more helpful spots around the body.
Like in the sole, for example, through the use of a brass sole insert, which helps lower the center of gravity.
Henry-Griffitts Praxis fairway woods come in five lofts: 15.5 degrees, 18.5, 21.5, 24.5 and 28.5 degrees. The lie is adjustable from 3 degrees upright to 3 degrees flat, and the face angle from 3 degrees open to 3 degrees closed.
The price is $315 for steel-shafted and $325 for graphite-shafted. Visit henry-griffitts.com for more info or to find a custom clubfitter.
Infiniti Tour Strategy TS-10 Irons
Infiniti Golf describes its Tour Strategy TS-10 irons as "a forged players iron designed with a healthy dose of forgiveness" and says they are aimed at mid- to low handicappers.
The TS-10 irons combine design elements of both players' clubs - such as a thin topline - and game-improvement clubs, such as an undercut cavity in long irons and a traditional cavityback in mid- to short irons. There is more offset in the long irons and minimal offset in the short irons.
The TS-10 irons are forged from soft 1020 carbon steel and finished with non-glare matte nickel plating. Set configuration is 3-PW, and the set sells for $1,020.

In the 1964 James Bond movie Goldfinger, Bond and the villain square off in a golf match. The villain tries to switch balls on Bond, but 007 isn't falling for that: "Mine's the Penfold Heart," he says.
Penfold was been one of the most famous brands in British golf for decades, and its balls marked with playing card suits - club, diamond, spade or heart - were iconic. Today, the company is reintroducing itself with a 4-layer performance ball, the Penfold Dual iD, with the suited markings.
The Dual iD balls are also individually hand-wrapped inside their box of 12, something Penfold first did with the golf balls in the 1930s but discontinued in the 1960s. The individual wrapping is biodegradable and reduces the need for any extra packaging.
The Penfold Dual iD golf balls are available only from penfoldgolf.com. Delivery within the UK is free, but shipping worldwide is available. The balls are priced, at the time of this writing, at £35.00 (which, again at the time of this writing, is equivalent to about USD $51).
An instructional DVD isn't equipment, but we're including this one in this gallery of new equipment because Tom Watson's tips can help you make better use of your equipment.
The 2-DVD set is titled Tom Watson - Lessons of a Lifetime (), and a runs a total of 2 hours, 43 minutes. Part of that time is a tribute to Watson's former caddie Bruce Edwards, who died of ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) in 2004. A portion of the proceeds from all sales will be donated to the Bruce Edwards Foundation for ALS Research.
"I was fortunate to have received excellent instruction early in my life," says Watson in a news release about the DVD set. "When I was six years old, my father, Ray Watson, cut down a hickory-shafted 5-iron, then proceeded to teach me the grip, and how to hook and slice the ball - all the basic fundamentals of the game. It's all this knowledge I've accumulated that I'd like to share with golfers in Lessons of a Lifetime."
The DVDs are organized into 46 "chapters" in which Watson covers such things as the fundaments of the set-up; the different parts of the swing; how to hit specific types of shots; specialty shots; short game drills; using different types of clubs; and faults and fixes.
The DVD set retails for $49.95. For more info, visit tomwatson.com.
