How Do You De Friend Someone on Facebook?

When the time comes to un-friend one of your friends on Facebook there's a few different ways to do it.
If you want them removed from your friends list completely, go to their profile page and click on the "Unfriend" link at the bottom left of the page.
If you need to do more than simply unfriend someone you have the ability to block them completely.
You can use this feature if you don't want someone to be able to see your page in search results.
It will be as if your profile won't exist to them.
This is a pretty extreme move in the Facebook world, so use it with caution.
You can unblock people you block so it's not the end of the world if you accidentally block someone or change your mind later and want to let them back in.
You might be wondering why you'd de-friend someone on Facebook after taking the time to make them friends.
Maybe you befriended someone who was just a spam artist, or you made friends with someone who you don't talk to ever and don't consider a friend.
It's perfectly alright to remove friends from your list so that you can keep track of your true friends more easily.
One tactic you can use is the hide feature.
If you're sick of seeing someone's updates but you want to keep them around, just hide their updates and you can free up your news feed without taking a hit to your friends list.
Many times it occurs that a friendship turns sour in the real world and you'll want to update your Facebook profile accordingly.
Even though Facebook is geared at everyone making more and more friends and increasing their social network, it's OK to keep your friends list in line with reality.
What's the point of letting these people have access to your personal information, pictures, and updates if you don't want them to be part of your life anymore? It could just be that you've got so many friends it's time to pare down your list to just actual friends.
When a person gets unfriended they don't receive a message in their inbox or any notice on their wall.
It's all very hush hush.
If they weren't too concerned about you as a friend they might not even notice that you've removed them.
Many times you won't even hear another peep from them.
The world inside Facebook adheres to different rules than the real world.
Friends come and go and people have thousands of friends and people actually update what they ate for dinner.
It's a strange place, so don't be afraid to de-friend people now that you know how.
