5 Things Kids Don"t Want to Receive As Gifts

With Christmas around the corner, and kids frantically dropping hints at the top toys of the season and what they would like to see is there any wonder that there actually are gifts that kids do not want to get? As parents or gift givers we are trying to justify the cost of the gifts to be given to numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and close friends.
But whether you are buying for Christmas, birthday or other event there are some gifts that kids simply do not want to get no matter what.
All the traditional gifts will fall into this category, such as socks, shirts, pants, underwear or virtually any other clothing but some types of clothing are acceptable, provided you know what the "cool factor" is when buying clothing.
My best advice is to stay away from clothing, most parents or adults are probably out of tune when it comes to what is cool and what is not.
If you simply must opt for clothing, then give the recipient cash or some other form of gift that will allow them to buy what they want.
But outside of the traditional gifts of clothing there are other more modern technology gifts that kids do not want either.
Yes believe it or not there are gadgets that kids will dump as soon as they can.
Since Apple introduced the iPod just a few years ago, the trend has been away from generic MP3 players to the more popular iPods like the Touch, Nano or Classic so is there any wonder that you do not want to buy kids of any age (or adults for that matter) any of the no-name or lesser known brands of MP3 players? While the other brands are less expensive they do not have the cool factor that the Apple products have.
Other types of gifts to shy away from are those that are personal in nature, for example perfumes or colognes.
While you may be buying a premium brand for a teen, they may be allergic or not at the stage where they wear expensive brands.
What are 5 gifts that kids do not want to receive as gifts?
  1. MP3 player that IS NOT an Apple product - please no "no-name" brands and your kids will know you really are cool.
  2. Clothing - clothing is very personal by nature, and what might have been hot 20 years ago, is not anymore.
Want to score a win with your kids? Let uncles, aunts and grandparents buy the clothes.
    You buy the cool stuff!
  3. Perfumes and Calognes - another personal gift item, many young adults might not yet be ready for these types of gifts or they may be allergic to them.
  4. Bargain bin video games - while you may think that the $20.
00 bargain bin video game is cool, the kids will not and there is a reason why it is in the bargain bin.
    Stay away!
  5. Shoes - like clothing, runners from the local department store no longer cut it with today's trendy teens.
Avoid the trouble and keep away from this practical gift.
Gifts are difficult to buy no matter who you are buying them for, unfortunately when it comes to teens it is that much harder.
The best solution is to research on the Internet to find out what exactly is hot and what is not to avoid disappointment and embarrassment.
