When most adults think about fitness, they think about hitting the gym, running on the treadmill or lifting heavy weights. But for children fitness classes mean playing and being physically active. Children exercise program include playing during the recess time, doing light exercises in gym class during the school hours, going for dance practices or soccer coaching, riding bikes or just simply playing with friends in the park. Everybody benefits from a healthier body and mind. Children who are active have leaner body because exercise controls body fat, have stronger bones and muscles, are less likely to become over weight, will possibly have lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

Some children are not at all into sports, but this does not mean that they have to be glued to the television. There are many creative exercise programs that can attract children and their interest. These children fitness classes can be as simple as walking in a park, and can help your sedentary daughter or son to discover the joys and benefits of physical activities. Not every child is drawn to organized sports like basketball or soccer. If your child is one of them then you should look for more enjoyable activities like dancing, swimming, rock climbing, martial arts etc. But most importantly the parents should have patience because it may take some time and few trial and errors to find the right activity that your child fits into. Keep on trying different ideas till something clicks. It is essential to get a non active and a non athletic child motivated so that they can have a healthy lifestyle.

Kids enjoy more when their parents play with them so the parents should choose the children exercise program that they can also involve themselves with. You can encourage your child by going for a family hiking trip or bike or walk to school together, or go to the park and just play catch. You do not require a lot of fancy equipments to motivate your child to exercise. You just have to enroll your child in the right fitness classes. Also limit your child to watch television for not more than two hours in a day. Instead encourage more active alternatives like walking the dog, shooting hops at a local pay ground, a simple game of tag or reading a book.

Endurance is developed in children when the kids regularly engage in aerobic activities. Most of the children exercise programs emphasize on aerobic exercises, during these exercises the heart beats faster and the child tend to breathe faster. When done for an extended period of time and on a regular basis, these children fitness classes improve the body's ability to deliver oxygen to the cells and also strengthen the heart. Improving strength does not mean lifting weights. Climbing, wrestling, handstands are some activities that incorporate building of strength. Stretching exercise helps in improving flexibility and also strengthens the muscles and the joints. If the exercise is fun and enjoyable all kids will love to do it.
