How to Tie Down a Motorcycle in a Truck
- 1). Once the motorcycle is positioned in the back of the truck, wrap the soft loop around the base of the left handlebar.
- 2). Place the hook of the tie-down through the soft loop.
- 3). Hook the other end of the tie down to a secure area in your truck. There are usually holes in the truck bed for this purpose. If possible, secure the tie downs at an angle.
- 4). Remove slack in the tie down by pulling firmly. Ratchet it a couple of times. Repeat this process on the right handle bar and side of the truck.
- 5). After each tie down is secure, tighten them firmly so the bike is in the upright position. To avoid damaging the motorcycle's suspension, do not compress the front forks. Consult the owner's manual for information on this.
- 6). To secure the back of the motorcycle, attach the soft loops and tie downs to a stable part of the motorcycle. Since every motorcycle is different, consult your manual if you have any concerns.
- 7). Secure the straps as you did in the front.
