Summer is here and the long days beg for some good books. Here are release dates for some of the biggest titles coming this month.

'Joyland' by Stephen King - June 4, 2013

Joyland is a throwback to the paperback crime novels that King enjoyed in his youth. As such, he is only making it available in paperback -- no e-book for this one. Joyland takes place in 1973 and is the story of a college student who works as a carny during the summer and must deal with the legacy of a murder and dying child.

'Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns' by Lauren Weisberger - June 4, 2013

This sequel to The Devil Wears Prada takes place 8 years after the last story closed. Andy is now running her own successful bridal magazine with Miranda's other ex-assistant, Emily. Andy is also on the verge of getting married. She should be happy, but soon she finds that the life she has built puts her back in Miranda's path.

'Big Brother' by Lionel Shriver - June 4, 2013

Lionel Shriver is best known for We Need to Talk about Kevin. Her new novel, Big Brother, is a novel about fat -- literal and figurative. When the protagonist's brother, who she has not seen in years, arrives, he is hundreds of pounds larger than when she last saw him. The conflict exists between the brother who overstays his welcome, the husband who is obsessed with fitness and the wife/sister who loves to cook and wants to help.

'TransAtlantic' by Colum McCann - June 4, 2013

Moving from 1845 to 1919 to 1998, weaving together stories in Canada, Ireland and the United States, TransAtlantic explores the ways in which past touches present and lives are connected. The pillars of the story are Frederick Douglass' visit to Ireland in the mid-nineteenth century, the first two men to fly a plane across the Atlantic ocean, and the Good Friday Peace Accords.

'The Ocean at the End of the Lane' by Neil Gaiman - June 18, 2013

The Ocean at the End of the Lane mixes Gaiman's penchant for fantasy with horror. The narrator in the story must deal with evil forces that were unleashed when his family's boarder stole their car and committed suicide in it. As he struggles to stay alive, he must turn to three unusual ladies who live at the end of the street for help.

'Sisterland' by Curtis Sittenfeld - June 25, 2013

Sisterland follows two identical twin sisters with psychic abilities. Vi embraces this side of herself and eventually takes work as a psychic medium. Kate, on the other hand, is embarrassed and shuns that side of herself, which strains the relationship between the sisters. After a devastating earthquake, Vi goes on television to predict that another is coming. Kate, who is afraid her sister is right, must decide between the stable life she has built and the possibility of saving others with her sister.
